Ms. Morrison is the Executive Vice President, Chief Administrative Officer, General Counsel and Secretary of the Company. She is responsible for overseeing all legal activities, enterprise risk management, corporate governance, and human resources. In addition, she oversees matters related to regulatory and compliance involving property operations, investment transaction negotiations, sustainability initiatives implementation, operations and reporting and activities related to political advocacy. Prior to joining Essex, she was a commercial litigation attorney at the international law firm of Nixon Peabody where she specialized in real estate litigation. Ms. Morrison received her Juris Doctorate from the University of California, Los Angeles, and holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with minors in Spanish and Economics from the California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. She is a member of the California State Bar and the NAREIT Corporate Governance Council.
